Just got this in the mail this morning and thought I would share some quick photos. All I can say is that for $440 (MSRP), this thing is built like a watch costing 10x that much. Unreal. Check out that micro-adjust dive-clasp! Very similar to the DSSD! I need to size the bracelet which will be a pain in the ass, but I am a very happy camper so far.

Vitals:
Width - 44mm w/o crown
Height - 16.5mm
Lugs - 22mm
Movement - Miyota 8215

That is one chunky monster! If they only stuck an ETA in there it'd be very hard to fault at all........ but then the price would've gone up too. It should be a great beater. :thumbsup:

PS - That clasp look very VERY similar to the Doxa 5000T's clasp.

I like the watch. I especially like the blue accents - nice touch. The micro adjustments on the bracelt are a very nice feature for both fit adjustment and expanding to wear over neoprene suit (like Doxa). Not sure what you paid - $440 seems high for a miyota and a lesser known brand. But that's MSRP (which strikes me as an irrelevant figure since no one pays MSRP). Anyway, great looking watch! Congrats!

Well, $440 is very fair price for what you get. With these handmade, limited run small boutique companies, you get far more for your money. You can't really compared these small companies to a Seiko. A Seiko monster with a Miyota movement might run $200 while other boutique watches are $500. Same reason I can buy a Hamilton with a 7750 for $600 or a Breitling with a 7750 for $5000. There is more to a watch than the movement.

Also, MSRP on private labels usually means that is what you pay. It is a lot of direct-to-consumer companies. I didn't pay $440 as I bought this used.

Well, basically there is not the additional markup that luxury brands have. Since you are buying direct from the manufacturer the price generally is what it is. That is not to say you can't get deals, especially when pre-ordering.

Love that monster! Very nice as an all go no quit beater. Let us know how it holds up over a little time if you don't mind.

So far, after owning it for 3 days or so, it's keep excellent time around 5/seconds a day. Can't complain at all for a Miyota movement. Wore it in the pool tonight for my laps and it so far it's water resistant to 1M ;) Still have 999

Never knew about this watch until reading your review. So thanks. It's a fantastic looking watch. You get alot of watch for not alot of price. After looking at their website, I noticed that this watch also comes with an option of an ETA 2824-2 movement for $200 more, so $640. Or, $690 for an all PVD version which looks great too.

I actually registered to this site after being directed to it by Ross from Hawaii (thanks Ross).

IMO, upgrading to a ETA just because it's Swiss is not worth the $200. As far as I know, even though they are 2824-2, they are not COSC movements, so there is not guaruntee they will keep any better time than the Miyota. This thing is currently within 10 seconds a day so I cannot complain for a $400 watch.
