Hey, if I am not right, correct me, but to my knowledge, Roff doesn't like titanium?

I'm sure there are others out there as well, but what's the reason for this dislike towards titanium? Is it just a personal preference or is there something that is actually bad about titanium?

I'm asking this because I've found a very appealing titanium watch, but if there's something bad about the material, I'd like to know!

I have had 4 aerospaces mad out of ti, They are light hard wearing and never rust and easy too refinish, Whats not to like?

I never knew that :lol:

Driver8 is not a fan, I think the ability to scratch easily, and the somewhat plasticky look puts him off, but I am sure that he can speak for himself.

I don't mind titanium on the right watch, although I am more likely to consider a case that has multiple materials with titanium being one of them (steel and titanium or similar) than I am a pure titanum case.

Oh, woops. Well I knew it was someone with a green name! haha.

Ok, well I don't really think it looks plasticky, so that wouldn't me my problem, but if it scratches easily.... then maybe that would be a problem (but technically dont all watches scratch pretty easily? ).

Correct. Ti does scratch a little more easily and when you refinish a ti watch, it takes a while for the refinished area to fully blend in as it oxidises. I do find them a little plasticy in appearance, and the lightness does nothing to change that. Personally I like my watches to have a bit of heft to them. Just a personal opinion of course.

I've owned 2 non-breitling Ti watches and they do certainly scratch pretty easily. The finish is matte, but not "brushed" and is quite unique which I think is the real appeal.

Boy am I getting tired of parrotting D8. But he states my opinion yet again. Too light, too easy to scratch and generally not as durable to my mind. Only opinion, but its my money too.

Personally, I dig the Titanium models(I own 3). I like the light weight and the look of it. The scratchiness doesn't bother me at all.

Even my wedding ring is titanium.

The light weight was what threw me off when I looked at the Emergency. Hence, the EM instead.

Having said that, I've just looked at the Panerai 305, which is Ti, in person... BIG TIME DROOL!!

I love my Avenger M1, it doesn't feel plasticky like the Seiko Ti watch at all.

I agree with Roffensian on this one : it all depends on what type of watch it's used on. I love my Emergency in titanium. It's heavy enough and much more special than the Emergency Mission which is made out of steel and weighs a ton. But on the other hand, I can't imagine a Navitimer in titanium, that would be so wrong.
