After being hugely impressed with the quality of the first BreitlingSource LE, I decided to dip my toe into the Steinhart world again for another piece that I really fell in love with........... and it arrived today! :D

This is the Steinhart LSE (Limited Silver Edition) which is limited to 333 pieces. It's an absolute stunning beauty, and I really delighted. Silver sunray effect sandwich dial, polished hands and black lume. The dial is incredibly legible which is what pilots watches are all about IMHO. The bridges on the movement are finished in a grey/silver kind of effect - it looks great, but I neglected to take a pic of it. It comes in a really nice polished black wood box with a strap changing tool and an additional strap. I have to say, the straps are great quality too, and the good thing is they don't cost the earth either, which is brilliant considering that straps are really consumables. (I know I've shuddered in the past when I've had to replace a croco Breitling strap at over £300 a time! OK, they aren't quite Breitling quality but they are much MUCH better quality that the price suggests. I can't recommend these straps enough).

All in all, I find it almost impossible to find fault in this watch's design or execution. Having a swan-neck regulator would've been the icing on the cake, but all in all it's a truly superb watch for superb money. Highly recommended!

Very nice.

How does that crown feel? Looks like it might dig a hole in your wrist if you're not careful!

Thanks for the comments guys!

@Taffy - it's 47mm, so it fits just right!

@Bronco - yes it's the sandwich dial, but you should know by now that my photographic "skills" don't stretch so far as being able to produce an even vaguely good photo! And my 3.2. mega pixel camera phone isn't really up to the job of low light photography either! To be honest the lume is pretty good considering it's black lume, but it showed up very faintly on the photo I attempted to take. If I ever get round to buying a decent camera I'll happily oblige.

@Iantheklutz - I'm kind of used to diamond crowns with my Big Pilot, but I'm also fortunate that I wear my watches above my "wrist bone" (that'll wind Boney up bit! ), so the crown doesn't touch the back of my hand at all. If you wear your watches below your "wrist bone", then yes they may well dig in a bit.

All in all this is a superb watch (in fact it's a superb package!) for less than £500 GBP. Gunter does it again!

Any big differences between the 2?
