My first question may be stupid...but I still can't figure it out, what does SE stand for? (when referring to SE and LEs).

Second, I was reading the thread on listing the Limited editions and I came across the part that said how the 1st, last, and single digit numbered editions were generally most valuable. My question is, is there a way to request one of those? Or is it completely by luck when you purchase the timepiece?

Thanks!

Special Edition? Sometimes you can request a special number from smaller watchmakers (sort of a 'get in line and order until theyre all spoken for'), but with something like Breitling, you get whatever your source can get.

And with Breitling (or any other of the big names) you are very rarely going to see a single digit number. Only exceptions to that rule would be the super limited gold editions ( /25, /50)

Ok, so what exactly is the difference between limited and special editions? (wouldn't special editions be somewhat limited as well?).

Limited editions are limited to a specific number of pieces, special editions aren't. They may be produced only for a specific time period, or they may be produced in relatively restricted production numbers, but they are not as exclusive as a specific run of x watches.
