While working one evening an older gentleman comes up and was wearing a nice Rolex. I said to him, nice watch sir. He thanked me and then said, young fella if you work hard one day you'll be able to afford a nice watch like this. I kept my composure, but was cracking up inside.
I was wearing this at the time.

With my rotation at home. It was just to funny.

 Just goes to show that a lot of non-WIS bought Rolies are purchased purely as a sign to say "I've made it", without any knowledge or appreciation for watches in general. Nothing wrong with that per se as not everyone is as obsessed as we are  (OK, very few people are!), but it leaves people like that guy open to ridicule if they just assume that Rolex is by default "the best brand in the world".

And on the other hand, it ably demonstrates once again what a superb job Rolex has done in ensuring that it's brand is recognised by Joe Public as THE prestige watch brand.

Hence why they only produce 800,000 a year.

Definiton of high end luxury - something so exclusive that less than a million are produced in any given year!

Funny story. Maybe you should show him your entire collection, assuming he knows any other watches apart from rolex :poke:

Certainly nothing wrong with Rolex' marketing department.

Rolex is probably all he knows. Hey I can't fault the old guy for that. Besides he gave me a laugh.
