So this springbar seems like the one I should get for changing between strap and bracelet for my Chronomat Evolution. But I am having a tough time finding one. Any pointers? I am located in the US, btw.

Here's one -

http://cgi.ebay.com/Spring-Bar-Tool-Fin ... 3efb43dfa2

It's in the UK but they will apparently ship worldwide.

And if you want to buy from a "proper" online store, then these guys here are the recommended people to buy from even if you are US based - http://www.watchtool.co.uk/bergeon-6767 ... ai4u3qm1d2

I was hoping for a US dealer to cut down on price and shipping time. I will use watchtool.co.uk as a last resort...

Its a nice tool, but I think the 6111 is better. Its basically a 6767-f with an additional large fork for easily changing straps. You cant go wrong either way though.

RJ, when I was buying my tool, the guy said 6111 is much more money. I ended up getting the 6767 with both the "s" & "f" tips (additional tip like $2).

Im not sure what you paid, but I think mine was like $25. I dont remember what the 6767 was at the time, but it was only a couple of dollars difference IIRC.

6767F should be under $20. That was a good price on the 6111, but I really can't get on with it. With a little practice the 6767F is a doddle and just works better for me.

The only problem that I have had with straps / bracelets was the custom made one that Altair arranged, and that wasn't the tool - the leather was so thick I had trouble seating the springbar.

Well the link that Driver8 provided to watchtool.co.uk is GBP9.87 with VAT / GBP8.40 without.

Humbled again  The only prices I've seen for that site were on ebay (some time ago) and then they were more like $25 Australian. All good, I stand corrected, they are clearly under $20!

I guess that could be part of the appeal of the 6111. The big fork is so huge and curved in a way to give you some nice leverage...although ive never had a strap so thick that it really mattered.

It wasn't a tool issue.

I had to compress the leather to get the springbar aligned with the hole - the leather strap was thicker than the space between case and springbar hole.
