Post subject:  New Year Surprise - a vintage Omega Dynamic Date!

So, my New Year started with a surprise. I went into my Breitling/Omega AD today to wish them a Happy New Year, and discovered a 90's Omega Dynamic Date in the pre-owned display case. It immediately caught my eye, as I have only seen the odd one on the internet, and never in person. Turns out, the customer who traded it, bought it there in the early 90's. So it's one owner, hardly worn especially when you realize it is well over 10 years old, and bought and sold at my AD. Unfortunately, the owner never keeps any papers or boxes, I guess he just has too many watches!
I have since learned a lot more about this watch, and am both surprised and pleased to add it to my collection.
Please, don't ask what I paid for it. I realize I probably paid a lot, but that is the price - as it is with new watches - for buying from an AD. On the other hand, I have the peace of mind of having been a valued customer for over 10 years. There is also a one year AD guarantee with the watch.
Hope you enjoy these few pics of a rather rare timepiece:

This was originally a Pilot's watch. Hence the large crown, which enables one to operate it even with gloves on. The font on the dial is wonderful, and the font on the date window matches it, which is a great touch of detail. The background on the date window, also blends beautifully with the dial. I originally thought the yellowed look of the numbers and markers was because of the lume ageing, but apparently the earlier models were this colour. I wish I could remember where the source of that info is. I am learning more about this watch all the time now.

Cheers,
Carl

I like it too, classic pilot watch styling with just a bit of a modern touch. Well done, Carl.
