I love the 321 with the PR on the dial. It's not to everyone's liking though. I have a 312 on the wrist as I type this and its a killer piece. ![]() |

321 for me too. I know a lot of Paneristi purists kick up a big fuss about the power reserve on the dial as it's seen as not being historic enough, but to me it's a great feature. IMO there's nothing wrong with a bit of variation on some Panerai watches. If Panerai had listened to the small percentage of people who say that Panerai's should all be handwound, and have no date or small seconds, we'd all still be wearing sundials strapped to our wrists. ![]() |

Combine this with the fact that they're named by number and it leaves me feeling like they have no personality. I'm all about a bit of character in a watch, it's why I "got into" mechanical watches, so I find myself unable to justify buying a pam anymore than I would a quartz (no offence intended) or (dare I say it?) a 'fashion watch'. I don't question the quality or anything like that for a second, they just ain't for me! Just my 2 pence. |

I like the 312, and just recently saw the 328 in person and that thing looked massive. |

I personally prefer numbers over names - especially when they are in ascending chronological order as I believe they are much easier to keep track of. Additionally, the difference between certain Panerais are very subtle; however, for me personally, I like those subtleties and really liking the brand and the history behind it makes them that much more intriguing to me. They don't get too far away from their history, but the subtle nuances and additions are welcome. Combine that with a very limited number of pieces, and I personally find them much more desirable. I've seen 2 PAM321s on the internet for $18,900 US - I believe they are limited to 500 or 1500 pieces......? |

I agree with this, it is nice to see some brands staying loyal to their history, not just following fashion around. Limited pieces are always good. I'm not saying I don't like them, I just couldn't love one! but this is just my humble opinion. (Certainly not Driver8's ![]() |

I'll go against the grain here and choose the 312. Not because of any paneristi etiquette or resistance to change, but because aesthetically I simply like the cleaner dial of the 312. The off-center PR bothers me a little. The 328 is on my "hit list" for 2010... or 2011... or maybe 2012 if we are still here. ![]() |
