There are tons of watches that I like, some that I love and would like to buy sooner or later. However there is one watch that I would trade all of them combined for, I enjoy diversity too much but if I was limited to one and only one watch then it would be the Audemuers Piquet Royal Oak Offshore "Arnold's All Stars" in reg gold on brown croco with that rich dial. just....wow. ![]() |

Yeah, I can understand that - I love that watch. The feeling of depth on the face is incredible. The only thing that I think spoils it is the cyclops - it breaks up the lines too much. |

Ian, I did not like the watch either, the pics never imppressed me. But then I saw it at an AD. Left me breathless. Since we do seem to share similar tastes I think it might have the same effect, do check it out. The reason I keep pushing you to visit ADs is that since I can not afford all these watches I am trying to live vicariously through you ![]() |

I live in a rural French town. RURAL - you know, tractors in the streets etc. The only AD (per se) is a guy who sells Swatch. Our town is 770 klms away from Paris. Do you start to see the problem? I doubt anyone has even heard of Audemars Piguet here, or if they have they'd ask what to eat with it... Seriously, I agree with you in terms of the difference between looking at pictures and actually getting hold of these watches to play with. As for hoping that I'll buy one for you to play with...hmmm je pense que t'es est en train de pisser dans le vent... Ian PS. Not keen on the colour either ![]() |

wow were really not operating on the same wavelingth today. Never implied that I would want you to buy me a watch!!! Living vicariously through someone is enjoying the achievements of others that a person might not be able to achieve himself. Mon français est très mauvais mais de toute façon : Je ne veux pas que votre argent ne s'inquiète pas si. Je n'ai jamais mendié dans ma vie et suis contrarié par la pensée |

oh dear we're sensitive today - very 'tongue in cheek' I suggested that you were hoping that I would buy yet another watch - but that it was not reasonable to think I would... Sorry if there was any confusion - I withdraw from any further comments today. PS. Your French is very good |

Yeah I thought about that too ![]() I am not sure but I think that propetary screw design is just the "top" and that a regular screw is underneath to do the actual tightining then that hexagonal flat piece would be safened on top somehow. I am sure you need some special tool designed by them. Apple computers does this with some of their computers to thwart triffling by anyone other than their service centers. |

By the way you notice how the screws are perfectely aligned at the same angle as their respective oposites? I love that!!! My brother has a butt ugly B&R with dial screws that are completly out of whack. Every time I see it I get the urge to take a screwdiver to it. There is a large screw on the back with a sign that says "DO NOT UNSCREW" We will see about that. |
