Post subject:  Watches Like Ferraris?

The title may be misleading, but I'm not talking about Ferrari Watches. I was wondering if some watches were like Ferraris in the way that they gain value over time instead of losing it. For example, a Ferrari could be bought for $500k in one year, but more than likely be a much higher price tag the next year if kept in good condition.

Thanks,

I think some Limited Editions would definetly increase in value, but I think it takes more than a year or two.....

It definitely happens, but it's a mugs game trying to use watches as investments. You are usually talking about super rare and super expensive watches and even then it's hit and miss. There are some vintage watches that have gone up in value considerably, but there's no certain way to predict what the next one will be.

You also have to consider whether they appreciate in real terms - a watch that sold new for $200 in 1960 may be worth $2,000 now, but adjusted for inflation it's not worth it.
