A bit overcast, but still a great 10K hike with my loyal companion Sierra and my favorite watch along the Bruce Trail on the Niagara Escarpment. It was a joy adjusting the time for daylight savings time this morning without losing my atomic time, just one pull of the crown and a quick adjustment of the hour hand without stopping the running seconds. Brilliant cal 8500.

Funny you say that, because I thought so too when I saw the pics. It doesn't look that big on my wrist in reality, but the camera sure makes it look huge. I recenetly met with another "watch nut" and his reaction was that it wore alot smaller on my wrist than he expected.

That is absolutely true. When I tried it on at my AD, I'd never have guess it was 48mm x 55mm!! I've said it before but I think it's the lack of traditional lugs that makes it wear smaller.

I'm still loving it, and I STILL want one!

I have to admit, it is the first watch I reach for... very possible that it is my all-time favorite watch. (I'm sure I've said this before, but this time I mean it :D )

Awesome watch mark! Love that sapphire bezel!

I too crave one, its just that I do not know if it will get any wear at all. It is a bit too out there design wise isn't it?

hmmm

By the way, anyone notice how Omega refer to the bracelet as "shark-proof" in their adverts?

So if I am ravaged by a hungry shark I can pass to the afterlife knowing my watch's bracelet is resting safe at the bottom of the sea, how comforting

The "out there" design hasn't prevented me from wearing it with a casual attire like jeans and shirt. I've had a few very positive and interested comments on it. Honestly once it gets ahold of you it will cast a spell. Have you handled it in person yet?

Shark proof... gotta love marketing.
