Is Perrelet a good watch manufacturer? They say they are the inventors of the automatic watch, idk if that's true or not, but, if they are, I guess that's cool. Anyways, I received their catalogue in the mail yesterday and I was flipping through it and noticed that their watches are quite nice, thought they must've been expensive though! So I went online and searched some of the models, and they are fairly cheap... I know the "greatness" of a manufacturer cannot be judged by the prices, but it seems a little unreal, pretty nice skeleton watches for just over 10k... So is Perrelet a good watch brand, that is of incredible value? Or is the price telling us that it's just mediocre brand?

I don't think that I would describe them as 'cheap', but certainly less expensive than some of hte brands that you have been looking at.

Wow... I really need to search my questions before I ask them! Well Idk if you can quote people, but you wrote this:

I've had a look at the Perrelet Regulator a few times, it does appeal to me in terms of a 'different' watch. I've just never quite felt that the arabics work for me - they seem to dominate slightly too much, but they are definitely a unique look and extremely well made.

So, that pretty much answers my question, the last part, that is.

Perrelet is a brand that I have only recently discovered. My AD, Time & Gold in Vancouver, has started to carry them fairly recently. I would say that the quality is exceptional. While I wouldn't say that they are cheap, there is an incredible value in the watch. They have some very unique movements, the Dual Rotor and Regulator Retrograde, to name a couple. I am really waiting to see the new Turbine, hopefully they will get one in next week. Probably a bit big for me, though, at 44mm. Especially, when I am liking the 36mm models of Omega so much!
I could go on and on about these watches, but if you can, it is best to see them yourself.
Cheers,
Carl
