I have seen many pictures of that watch and I always say interesting, but not for me. I never knew the turbine moved like that though. Maybe if they offered a polished edition with a stainless band I would be more interested, but that video does make it look awsome... Maybe when I was younger I would have jumped on it, but not today.

I know what you mean about the "younger" thing. Although I don't intentionally exclude certain little pleasures in life just because I'm 60, I certainly find that my tastes have changed. In the past 6 months, I have gone from large Breitlings (up to 45mm and 17.5mm thick), to the smaller 36mm Omegas, and one Omega AT at 41.5mm which, quite honestly gets very little wrist time now. It's bad enough now, when I am out, sneaking occasional glances at my wrist, but with that turbine - well, I think it might just become my center of attention 27/7!
Back down to my AD today, though, I am taking another look at a couple of the more classic Perrelet. One of those is probably in the cards for me. Sometimes my AD will look at doing a trade, and I might be tempted to do that with my AT, instead of going the route of selling.

I just can't get enough of these watches! I looked at pics of the Perrelet Turbine and kind of shrugged my shoulders, but after seeing this video - well, who knows..... I saw his name on the dealer's list in North America... I checked because THIS WATCH IS BAD A$$... wonder how much it is though...

Thanks again for the great video Well, since Friday evening after work, I have spent a few hours at my AD, and countless hours doing more research on the internet and gazing at their beautiful bound catalogue that my AD gave me. Af first, I thought the Turbine was a bit over the top for me. I have looked at all their models, and believe it or not, this is almost one of the simpler models. The Turbine is an adaption of their double rotor, which you can see on both the dial and the back of the watch. Other than that, the Turbine does not have any complications, not even a calendar, which appeals to me greatly. Sorry about my description. Of course, this is a new model and still hasn't arrived at my AD. So far, and photos I have seen - and I have seen some beautiful ones - don't do any of the Perrelet watches justice. I am so grateful to my AD, last night we spent a couple of hours talking about these watches, and mostly agreeing on models we liked best. He actually kept up the discussion quite long after the store closed. It is just wonderful to know someone like him and his personable and unsnooty staff, who will spend countless hours discussing every aspect of any watch. Anyway, I was all set to order the one model, a Double Rotor, which I saw last night, then I kept looking at pics and video of the Turbine. To my surprise, it will not be much more than the Double Rotor model I looked at. Now I just have to be patient until my AD gets one. That would be fantastic if your wife got one! The larger watches are very appealing to many women. The girl who works at my AD always wears rather large mens model watches, and loves them. I can't even imagine how it will feel to actually have a watch like that on my wrist! The only prices that I could find were on the Jura Watch UK, website. They had the Turbine at 3,600GBP for the Titanium, and 3,900GBP for the Titanium with DLC coating. The 3,600 converts to $6164CAD. The Dual Rotor at my AD was just over $5600. so that seems to be a pretty good figure for the Turbine. I don't find that unreasonable, as I had an idea that it might be between $8000-10,000 range. Actually, nearly all of the Perrelet models that I have seen have come in at a lot less than I would have guessed. Figures that I have seen mentioned at other sites estimate the price at between 6 and 7 grand, I assume that is in USD. They also have a remarkable Moon Phase model, that I thought would be higher, and it is about 7 grand. I must admit that - after my initial overreaction to the LE Omega Planet Ocean Liquidmetal - that these seem much better value for the money. When you think that a regular PO is $3500usd and the Liquidmetal will be twice that amount for a ceramic dial and Liquidmetal bezel, plus a couple of other minor enhancements, plus the hard-to-get stigma that may be attached to it, the Perrelet models all seem reasonable. A basic automatic model with date only is $3500CAD, which I found quite reasonable also. I have to see that Turbine before I can make a decision about which one is my favourite, though. It is a 44mm case, but the crown is actually concealed within the case, but it still seems a bit large to me. Cheers, Carl
