| Post subject: | Where to get spring bars for a bracelet... |
Hey guys, I just picked up a Chronomatic head from an AD (not local) and will be picking up a bracelet from someone else. The thing is the bracelet does not have the spring bars and the watch head didn't either. So I want to pick up the correct 22mm spring bars for the watch. Where is the best place to pick these up. Just want to make sure they are good quality or OEM. Thoughts? Thanks in advance guys!

I do not know if I misunderstood something but I think he is searching for the two bars that connects the bracelet with the watch, not the tool. |

I usually just ask my AD and they give me a bunch. Strap and bracelet springbars are different, so make sure that you get the right ones. |

Thanks Roff. I will try and ask at a local AD and see if they can help. Just for my own knowledge, how are they different. I've been using the same ones for my OR strap and my SS bracelet on my AS. Should I be using different ones on each ? Thanks Chris |

Strap bars are thicker - you can use bracelet on strap, but generally not strap on bracelet. Using bracelet springbars on strap will give a marginally increased chance of the strap coming loose as they are a looser fit and easier to bend than the thicker ones. Straps don't protect the springbars as well as bracelets do. |

He said they are thinner than the usual bracelet springbars... All new news to me... I learn something new every day! |

Glad you're sorted but as Roff said, your AD should always be your first port of call. Then check here to make sure they're right!

Well my bracelet arrived today and I was pretty stoked to finally mount my 24HR LE Chrono-matic head onto it, but alas, it did not arrive with the spring bars as promised  So I planned to stop at the AD on the way home...but first I called ahead to talk with a buddy I know over there and he said he wasn't sure if they had any and would have to check and let me know. Just got a call back and they dont have any. Sooooo......Now what? Should I contact George maybe and see if I could pick some up from him? What do they run a pair usually? I want to make sure I am getting the right kind... Any words of wisdom guys? |

I find it hard to believe that an AD doesn't have springbars I honestly don't know what they go for as I have never bought them - a couple of bucks I guess. I suspect that George will just send you some. If need be let me know and I'll try and grab some for you - cross border shouldn't be a problem as they can just go in an envelope, but I am not around much at home in the next few weeks. |

Yeah I thought it was a little off that they "don't have any", but I wasn't going to question it. It's a Carlyle and Co. and they are going out of business. I appreciate the offer to help. I think I will shoot George and e-mail. My poor little watch head sitting there....so sad! |
