I have noticed this small Muhle Glashutte watch at my AD on many occasions. When I was last in to pick up my Omega SMP, I noticed it was in a small section with 30% discounted watches. Well, today my curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to have a better look. I was very impressed with the quality. It is a 2007 Limited Edition of 300. The case looks even smaller than my 36mm Omegas, but wears bigger because of the lugs extending from the case. The beautiful black croco deployant strap screws into the lugs, and it would be possible to fit any leather strap on the deployant clasp. The only reference I could find to this watch was one for sale on eBay in Austria, and I managed to get some pics from there:

It is an ETA movement, modified by Muhle Glashutte. I am trying to find out which movement it is. It also has a beautiful exhitition back. The sides of the case are brushed.
The original price is $1725. CAD, which I imagine has not changed much since 2007. With a discount of 30%, the total in CAD is $1325. with tax. I imagine, due to it's size, it is going to be difficult to sell even at this price. I am thinking of offering $1200. including tax.
I actually think that this is a gorgeous piece for the price, and I did try it on and found that as I am into the smaller watches, it looked great on the wrist.
Wouldn't mind a bit of feedback about this watch if anyone has a bit ot time.
Cheers,
Carl

Never heard of them before but they use an ETA 2824 which is the same base movement Breitling use in models like the Colt, Steelfish, SuperOcean Heritage etc.

Muhle Glashutte has had an interesting history including a bankruptcy around a court case - long story, but there was an article in the August or September International Watch with a potted history if you can find one.

They have recently returned to North America and while they aren't in the same league as the exclusive German watchmakers they are a company with a very solid reputation for their watches.

To be honest, I think that $1,200 is still high. WatchBuys has just started selling them for comparison purposes (though prices there are US$ rather than the C$ that Carl would be looking at). http://www.watchbuys.com/store/pc/muhle ... atches.asp

Thanks for the replies. After I "slept on it", I woke up this morning and common sense prevailed. Regardless of the price, I don't think that it is a special enough watch to really keep up my interest for a long time. And possibly difficult to sell down the road. I'll save my pounds, shillings and pence for another time. Anyway, I do feel a bit spoiled as I got two new Omegas in the last couple of weeks: the Railmaster and SMP!
Cheers,
Carl

Hate passing judgment when people are considering buying, but I think that's a good move Carl.
