Hi everyone, I was surfing online and I found some interesting article about not often wearing an automatic movements. The article is very detail and accurate on how you take care the automatic movements. As he mention that automatics are supposed to be more accurate, but because they require you to continue to wear the watch or else it will stop, changing different watches as I do often proves problematic. Is that TRUE or FALSE? I do change different watches and my breitling are usually just sitting inside the safe. I have been inform that I should wear my watch as much as I could so that the time will stay accurate, but I don't really wear my watch everyday. I'm afraid the valjoux 7750 will end up in the repair shop. One more question to ask is it true that there is valjoux 7750 in some of the rolex model? THANKS, flavorgreentea |

I've noticed that when the watch stands still more than 6-7 hours a day (during the sleepover), it becomes slow for 1-2 seconds. Think that's normal because the spring is not tensed that well and think that's normal for any automatic movement. Wish someone of more experienced enthusiasts give their opinion on that. |

I am not expirienced enough to comment inteligentley on your first question. But I can tell you that Rolex has NEVER user an ETA (valjoux ) movement of any sort. Almost all of their movements are designed and made in house, with the exception of the excellent Zenith El Primero movement used in the Daytona, but nothing as pedestrian as an ETA. However, Rolex does own Tudor which does use a modified ETA movement in its Chrono (the infamous 7750). |
