Has anyone heard of PAUL MAILLARDET watches espeially the Chronographs aparantly they are something to do with Wakmann any info is welcomed as google is not coming up with a lot so far.from what I was told they have the same insides as Wakmann and Wakmann was the name used by Breitling when it entered the US markets (that is taken off the web and I don't know how much I believe that) as Breitling were already an established name so why create another, movement is just signed Paul Maillardet who apparently is French which is why its says France on the bottom of the watch,With a swiss movement its a hand wind. Its a venus movemnet dont know which one though

here is a pic of one

Wakmann is certainly the US company owned by Breitling - long story, but essentially it was Breitling's way into the US market when restrictions prevented the import of Swiss watches.

I've bumped into Paul Maillardet as a name a couple of times, but never found evidence of anything substantial. It may simply be a dealer / retailer private label Wakmann.

Wakmann did do business with companies other than Breitling, but not sure whether this is a separate (presumably French) firm - I could never find any evidence of that.
