Despite all my rants and raves about 'other' makes, it seems I've just wired a humongeous wad of cash to a guy in the States who's just sold me a Rolex GMT Master llc - damn thing's on a bracelet too!! I'll never live this down...

The actual watch

Nice addition to the collection! I'm tempted by this watch, because of the green markers and the Holigram around the bezel, you can now determine the difference between counterfeit and authentic. I hope the new Sub comes with the holigram, then I will purchase it.

There's no actual hologram on or around the bezel - however the mention 'ROLEX' and the serial number are engraved on the inner below the crystal (you can just see the writing in the first photo at about 1 o'clock)

The series currently available now only have the model number engraved on the back of the case.

The crystal is flat (aside from the date lens), unlike the earlier Submariners, but the bracelet is the most astonishing - finally a decent bracelet (taken from the Daytona, yes, I know!!) for a sub...smooth action clasp, solid links - no more pressed s-steel. They took their time, but it's worth it IMHO

The watch wears larger than the older models - I've worn both and can confirm this.

Oh ok, I thought it there was a ROLEX holigram around the bezel, so it's engraved then. Very good, still at least you can now distenguish the real from the fake, by that security measure. Hopefully, the counterfeiters won't be able to replicate this measure.

Victim of various brain-farts (like ordering Rolexes...), I've only just noticed the GMT ll in your signature - tell me about it please....

I think I posted about it somewhere, its a GREAT watch, and has much more wrist presense than any other Rolex I have seen. Spend a few moments handeling it; setting the time, date and playing with the crown and you will immediately feel like its your best purchase. Such a well made watch, and the dial is perfect, simple yet interesting, beutifull!! I love the "Maxi Dial" its why it feels so much bigger and grabs a bit too much attention with the ceramic bezel and polished/brushed center links. The contrast looks great. Five stars from me, I wish they offered it in more dial colors in SS I would like to buy another I love it so much.

Altair

I'm a little confused about the photographs of your GMT Master in the Gallery section here. I'm probably horribly wrong, but I was under the impression that the latest version has the ceramic bezel version and green 24 hour hand, while the earlier, non ceramic bezel, had the red 24 hour hand, as in your photos - please can you tell me which yours is? (To clear up my confusion)

I actually have not gotten around to posting pics of the GMT Master IIc yet, those are pics of my older non ceramic one, which I sold a couple of weeks back.

I really like that one. I used to have a sub, but just didn't do it for me... now this GMT Master IIc is really starting to appeal!

I know that this is going to sound petty, but.....

Why does Rolex have to claim that the watch is 'Superlative'. To me it is reminiscent of the old adage about ladies - if you have to tell people that you are a lady, then you're not.
