Hi people! im going on holiday with my girlfriend to Venice in about a week and was pondering what watch to take.... I usually take my Tag because its the cheapest and one i don’t mind beating around a bit. I would love to take my skyland but im a little scared about it getting stolen ect... what you guys would do in this situation? |

Wear it and enjoy it - that's why you bought it after all. And that's what insurance is for. |

I agree 100% with Roffensian!! Take the Skyland and enjoy yourself. I would be more concerned about falling out of a gondola (if its like what it was in 1999, ![]() ![]() |

Venice is one of my favorite cities in all of Italy. So beautiful! Just beware of the Gypsies. See if you can get travel insurance for the watch that way your not always looking over your shoulder. Tip: keep your wallet in your front pocket with your hand nearby. |

What about a rider pollicy for personal property insurance? I had a rider from my home owners insurance on my camera gear and it covered anything..even if I dropped it in the water. Just a thought. And I agree...Enjoy the watch. It doesn't slip off the wrist easy, so unless you get stuck up, you should be ok! If they try...just wrist slap em with that nice chuck of Ling steel! |

Take the one you love most! I believe that to get the most out of your holiday, you should have the watch that you like to wear the most. Cheers, Carl |

Venice is great. I saw my grail there for the first time in a small shop in St. Marks square. Bought it a few months later. A Bentley Motors ![]() There are alot of street vendors there, mostly selling leathergoods. But apart from that, we felt very safe and secure, never uncomfortable. We often walked the streets at night. I wore a Doxa T-Graph and Ball Mad Cow on that trip. I found that if you dress "hip", black tailored sport jacket, designer jeans, nice italian shoes, the street vendors don't bug you. They focus on the typical "tourists", and you know what they look like, logo golf shirts, shorts, sneakers... you can spot them a mile away. The locals DO NOT wear shorts or white sneakers, even in the hottest weather. They will wear linen pants and shirts, leather shoes or sandals which breathe. Don't dress like a typical tourist and you will have a much better time. As for your watch, wear the watch you love, period. Thats why you have it. |

I've also enjoyed Venice. There's a new Hard Rock Cafe there that I need to go back and visit, as I try to hit them all around the world. But I agree with Roff the Prof 100% also. I would be very hesitant to take my new Lings to a lot of less-than-pristine locations, for fear of theft/loss. However, now that I've got insurance, I'm not going to let fears hold me back--enjoy the watch to the fullest, you sure paid a lot for it, might as well get full enjoyment out of it!!! |
