Omega 33xx Movement problems

Post subject:  Omega 33xx Movement problems
The movement in my Speedmaster that I sold was a 33xx Piguet 1285 based movement, and I've heard now that the movements have had lots of problems.. for the past couple of years actually??? My new seamaster has a Valjoux 7750 based movement so no problems there but I was surprised to heard that about the coaxial chronos from Omega. Anyone have any experience or hear of anything?

wow that's strange, I thought the Coaxial movement, from what I hear its one of the best upper mid range movements out there.

I hope Omega QC is not sliping, we don't have many high end quality movements at their price range.

The coaxial movement is very fine. It also works without problems, unless You intend of using the watch for sports. The movement is definetely not shockproof. Another problem that might happen: As there is only very little lubricant oil used in the watch, it is specially prone to have bad oiling if it was in a hot shopwindow for long time (more than 2 years...)

The FP3301 and FP3303 movements used on the Seamaster Chrono divers ie. 2594.52 and Speedmaster Schumacher legends had some issues with the chronograph movements, those are with the earlier batches.

I believe it has since been fixed. From what I hear, if its bad, it will bad right off the bat.

I have the FP3303 on my 2594.50 SMP Chrono Diver and it seems to be fine still.

I've read a lot about the 33xx movement problems since I got my Speedy BA. There are a lot of reported problems with them. I'm sure there are lot more without issues. Mine's about 4 years old and there hasn't been an issue with it prior to me having it and during. All functions work well and the watch keeps excellent time.

With that said, I'm selling mine because I want another Rolex. :D Oh when will I stop flipping watches? I need to stabilize my collection.

Valjoux 7750?

I think this is the movement in my Fortis. It's a little noisy, but I've not had any problems with mine.

7750 is a little noisy due to the rotor wobble (uni directional winding).

Correct.

It doesn't bother me, but when compared to my Rolex it's like night and day.

The CA is so light that the wobble reminds me its here LOL!

My SD is quiet. The only noise I hear are the lug pins clinking. The rotor has no noise at all on the 3135 movement.
