This one made me chuckle......

It claims to be a rare pocket watch made by 'Ancre'. Ancre is actually a technical term for a lever escapement. It's an indicator of quality but in this case it's like saying the watch was made by a company called 'overcoil balance spring'.

What we actually have here is a no name, probably Swiss watch from the late 1800s. With a gold case, and in this condition, it's worth $500 or so at most.

Asking price - $200,000

But he only needs to sell one to make his or her day, none of this selling 70 or 80 watches to make a reasonable years wage.

like some ebayer has 200k to drop on a 500 buck watch and if they did they would do a bit of research ud think. jeez id pay roff 2k to save me 199500

You have to wonder how low a 'best offer' he would accept. I'm almost tempted to offer him a couple of hundred bucks just to see what happens - almost!
