Yes you would be, trust me on that!

I'll second that you would be very happy....

Yeah, the tough decision is to go with the ocean racer or leather w/ deployment in additon to the bracelet.

Those are the keepers, the rest vary constantly, and that's without straying onto the 'beginning to dream' list (Zenith Defy Extreme Sea Open)

I guess I need to rethink this as one of them became a 2008 piece.......

Think I'll hold off until I see what Basel brings.

adding my 2 cents worth

1. Bell & Ross BR-01 92 carbon with red markers
2. Omega Planet Ocean Big Size with Rubber Strap
3. Panerai Luminor GMT
4. Tag Hauer Grand Carrera RS2
5. Hamilton Below Zero 1000m Phantom

I could get silly and add the other 200 that catch my eye but I will spare you the monotony

I can tell you that the leather croc with deployment is really nice and instantly makes the Steelfish a dressier watch. I do not strap on my Croco strap very often because 1) I am not in a business environement that often and 2) it isnt going to hold up as long with water or sweat as per se the rubber options, so I reserve its use for special ocations. Now everyday I wear my black Steelfish with the Diver Pro and it couldnt be more comfy(and inexpensive, BTW), but with LouWal's ex-Ocean Racer heading my way, I will be able to see how that strap feels. I already know that it looks fantastic.

I know Carl has the Ocean Racer on his Steelfish and he really liked it. I'm leaning towards the leather strap wih deployment, I'd like to go with the croc but I'm not sure that's in the budget.

In light of my new IWC BP purchase I just thought it'd be interesting to revisit the "2009 Wish List" thread, and in the space of four months my list has changed somewhat!

4 months ago it was -

1. Chonomatic 49
2. Monty Legende
3. Zenith Defy Classic Open, and...
4. Omega Railmaster XXL, which I quickly replaced with an IWC BP after trying one on!

Well, the BP has been taken care of ( ), and the Zenith is still there, but the others are gone!

List now reads -

1. Panerai 270 or 275 (or possibly a 268)
2. JLC Master Compressor Extreme World Alarm
3. Zenith Defy Classic Open,
4. Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, and...
5. Maybe a B01 equiped Breitling depending on whether I actually like what it's put in!

It's been a long LONG time since I've not had my eye on any specific Breitling model, but I guess that's the price of spreading your wings in the watch world.....

You've definitely ticked an important box with the BP, Driver!

I am failing dismally this year. This was my list:

Breitling Navitimer
Omega Speedmaster
Another BR01 - either the 96 (big date) or 97 (power reserve)
Maybe another IWC

And so far I have bought... a plastic Luminox  . Not that I don't love it, but it's not quite the same, is it?

I think my list now would be:

Navitimer
Super Avenger
PAM 111
And another IWC of some sort

My list has been blown up completely.

I think that there will be more non Breitlings than Breitlings this year - although with this economy there might not be much of anything - time will tell.

I think that I'm preparing to make a bit of a step up in terms of what I'm spending on pieces - my mortgage is close to paid off and so I'm going to have a little more disposable income so my slightly hopeful list would now be:

An 'unusual' quality watch - Romain Jerome being the leading contender
A dress watch - IWC don't appear to want my business which is driving me towards A. Lange & Sohne - Grand Saxonia Automatik being the leader right now. That will also fill my desire for a Glashutte school watch
A Zenith - when I stop being po'd with them over the 25% Canadian price increase
An LE Breitling if Basel get's me interested
Something more 'surprising' - not sure what - maybe a Chronoswiss.

Mine changed as well. I went from planning on buying a new black dial Steelfish but ended up with graphite dial used Evo.

Mine too changes daily as I'm in research mode. Not looking to buy them all at once :D

I have two lists, one is a dream list (i.e. for the future) and the second is more realistic.

Realistic (llooking at):
Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow GMT
B4B 6.75 / LeMans
Cosmonaute
SOH Chrono

Dream for now:
IWC - BP or Portuguese
JLC

Obviously a bit of variety there in sizing, style etc.

Great thread - fantastic to hear about everyone's next piece!!

Well here we are into March 09 and we revisit our wish list.

Heres what I started with:

PAM 112 or 111
Breitling 6.75 or Le Mans Bronze got the World instead
Breitlingsource.com Limited Edition ...well so much for that idea
Breiting SA black dial
Bell and Ross Phantom got it!

Heres what has arrived so far this year:

The Bell & Ross Phantom (and its on my wrist right now adn looking awesome)
Navitimer World (fantastic watch)

Heres my updated (realistic) wish list for 2009:

Panerai 112 or 111
Breitling SA
-or-
a new watch with the B01 movement

Since I've gone overboard (in my eyes) with two major purchases already this year, I have to step back and cool it for a bit. Besides, the watch fund is pretty much down to diddley right now. You dont know how much I held back the urge to dump the whole tax return on watches (or one really nice one) :) ... mmmmust hhhhave sssself ccccontrol.....
