Much like everyone else, I've had several nice watches over the years and I buy them for me. Not for anyone else. I like what I like. It is interesting though watch freaks do like watch freaks as was stated earlier. I like watches with real movements, and not quartz etc.

And watches are a bit like cars. A few years ago I pulled into a local wine establishment in St. Louis, and a guy pulled in next to me in a Lamborghini (parking in regular space and not taking up two etc), I commented, "Aren't you afraid you'll get door dinged", his response, "it's just a car!" He owned it for him not for the world. I liked his attitude...
