I've come around a lot ot Zenith in the last 12 months. The extremes are really appealing to me now, and those that have been here since last year will know that wasn't the case then.

I'm not sure that I will be buying just one Zenith, but with current pricing I'm also not sure I'll be buying any - open extremes are now upwards of Canadian $30K list - that's just ridiculous in the current economy.

I'll be honest, but I've been researching Zeniths a lot over recent weeks, but I still have problems with the Extreme models. They look too much like Casio G-Shocks to me, and I also have a problem with the fact that most of them are PVD'd to some extent.

However the Defy Classic range is incredible IMHO. The Defy Classic Open El Primero is an absolute must for me, and in actual fact, it's <shock horror> now overtaken the Monty Legende for me on my wish list.

I'm really up for the white dial SS version, but the TT version is shouting at me too! :? Four problems with that though -

1. The price
2. I'd have to have the TT version on leather, but I hate the knurled effect Zenith put on their leather straps to try and match the knurled effect dial... so that'd mean be a trip to ABP-Paris for something better.
3. The price, and...
4. Did I mention the price?

But obviously if you're new prospective client meetings go well, it'll be Zenith Zero G tourbillons all the way won't it?

You know, I am usually right there with you two on the desireability of most timepieces, but you TOTALLY lost me on that one. I realize it is a mechanical marvel and Aston-Martin expensive, but Eeewwww! :tard: IMHO not attractive at all. But I guess that is why they make more than 1 style, something for all!

The Defy Extreme Zero G is a little too...... well......... "extreme" for my taste, but the Defy Classic version is superb IMHO.

It's a marvel!!!

Still not quite my style, but A LOT better than that extreme one I was looking at, you were right.

The Extreme Sea range is what has really done it for me - sure the Tourbillon is an incredible piece, but then so is the Academy range, and they are all far out of my league!

I tried this piece on, and it is a very nice piece - http://www.zenith-watches.com/img/4_new ... g_72_7.jpg

I'll admit that it's not for every one, and the classic pieces are also very nice - this is the classic version of the previous one - http://www.zenith-watches.com/img/4_new ... g_71_7.jpg

The extreme just makes more of a statement to me, and if I'm spending that much on a watch I want it to stand out.

To each his own. Monet and Picassso are both considered Masters as well.

OK, same answer. I am not sophisticated enough to appreciate Picasso either. :?

It sure sticks out. But, I think I could like that look! :)

(Mine is more "normal", a Class Grande El Primero, a guilloche dial LE DB of 500.)

Thanks Roffensian, I would just have to get it out from the safe in Sweden, some 9000 kilometres away...

No problem - I'll go pick it up - what's the combination?
