Both are beautiful pieces, but the JLC really tugs at my heart. It's
a more rugged, sporty watch, which always appeals to me. But
either watch -- Zenith or JLC -- is a winner. Don't forget to show
us the pix. :)

The Zenith really sings to me! All the complications, the numerals, the silver and the dial all work so well together. That is one tough looking piece!
I am also a big fan of the Baume & Mercier Classima Executive. Although an entirely different watch, it was a close contender last year when I got my Blacksteel and Steelfish. I just find the one you are looking at has a bit too much of the "exhibition" on the front. There is another model, which has the exhibition front, but closer to the 12 o'clock, a bit smaller and more subtle, the model on the website is no.8688. That is my favourite B & M. I also love a couple of their square models, called Hampton. They actually have a very nice chronograph as well. I also like the B & M price point. The watches are all beautifully made.
Cheers,
Carl

i no exactly witch 1 you mean! i got into b & m when i went to Barcelona and they had this quight small but veeeeery well stocked watch shop, I tryed the one you mention and it did just look amazing, but my tast has changed some what and as much as i like the one i pointed out i think it will only ever be on the back burner.

50/50 atm guys  , see now this is why i wanted to put this poll on the forum, they are 2 completely different watches but its a hard choice.

oh and btw as a bit of a update.... went into a ad were my girl friend lives and spotted sumpthink that will replace the omega. The guy was a bit useless on his watch info (one thing is that when i said i was i the market for a jeager or a zenith he said ahh yes well jeager is in a class of there own, but then i said... wel achully zenith and jeager are realy in the same class...he just went silent.) but he made a good point, omega is like dog shit..... it is everywhere and its the classic thing that people my age get for there 18th or 21st (not that my parents ever would) as much as i do like it, i do want sumpthink that i feel is a bit special. soooo this brings me onto the replacement :

i have always wanted this watch but i thought it was sumpthink that i just cant afford after the zenith/JLC but my thought are if i want it why settle for anything els, it may change to the 50th anniversary sub at some point but i think a rolex is what im veering to as my new "everyday watch"

Same theme as the omega, sutle, not loud just a very nice everyday watch. And its a rolex

I've owned two Explorer IIs in the last 30 years, and I can say from
experience that they are fine watches (if a little on the small
side). However, I can't believe you would say Omegas are "dog shit!"
My Planet Ocean is one tough, dependable timepiece, which after
three years, is still running perfectly. Omega timepieces have
earned their place alongside Rolex and Breitling as rugged, luxury watches.
Let's leave it at that.

I'll vouch for that!
