Yeah, but fellas lets not forget that until the invention of the auto, all of the watches made (both wrist and pocket) were manual and were wound every single day of there life and most lasted for a very long time. (most without being serviced)

Other that the minor inconvenience of haveing to wind one, I wouldnt hesitate buying a quality manual wind. In fact a Pam 111 or 112 is on the list pretty high.

altair i hear ya about the manual wind/panerai. i guess it's more tradition than anything? screwing/unscrewing my pam 183 (even though it's natural working part of the watch) to wind i can't help but feel some wear n tear setting in.

i've contemplated switching the 183 for a 287 automatic but to me a classic radiomir should have a simple/plain sandwich dial, not some cycloped mutant hybrid with the sausage lumes. i also love the bonus display back but some day i feel my panerai world would be less complicated if i switch to an automatic (or save up for the power reserves 8) )
