Thanks for the input chaps.

So.... not a whole lotta love out there for the Privateer then! :?

To be honest I'm not surprised as, like I said in my first post, it's about as far removed from a Breitling as you can get!

I've been thinking about it more and I can't get away from the fact that while I do like it for some reason, I probably wouldn't be remotely considering buying it if it was at full retail price. I guess that speaks volumes.......

Oh and Otto's point about friends and work-mates making "Ah-argh, me hearties!" and "Shiver me timbers!" style pirate noises would be likely to drive me round the twist!!

OK, I've decided....... the cash will remain in the Legende / CM 49 fund!

A bargain is only a bargain if it's something that you want, and there is a reason why a relatively small number of pieces of eight would have secured it!

It is always nice when everyone likes your watch. But what really maters is do you like it. I have a few watches I like that are not really very popular with everyone but to me. I like to look at other watches and brands. The Courm is cool, the craftsmanship is amazing not somthing an older guy like me could wear but cool. If you like it who cares....go for it.

I totally agree with you, mah, and I'm one who's always telling others to just buy what they like, but in this case I really am (or as I should say, "was" :) ) completely in two minds about it. I'm happy to admit that I do like it, but I was wrestling with myself as to whether I just like it as a bit of a novelty that would wear off in a couple of weeks, or whether I'd actually keep enjoying it long-term.

I have no problem at all if others don't like my watches as I always buy my watches for me and me alone, but I was certainly curious as to everyone's opinions on this particular one being as they are so different to Breitling.

Anyway after careful deliberation I think that if I was given one, I'd keep it, but I don't think I'll dip into the Breitling fund to buy one.

That is not a typical Corum Bubblewatch but a special edition, made for the "hepcats of the nightclub scene". The normal Corum Bubblewatch is very nice if you like a big watch. This one is only suited if you have matching tiribal tattoo's and wear jeans with paint stains.

Hey - found the ideal strap for that Privateer

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %26ps%3D20

You could swap it out from time to time just for a change!
