You're right, the rubber clad on rubber retails for $25K. I opened the link and saw the Safari and knew that one is $25,700

I don't have a chronograph. I've never owned one, and I doubt that I would ever use any of its functions. Generally I find that the sub-dials simply make the overall appearance of the watch face too busy and detract from the most important aspect of being able to tell the time at a glance.

However, I would have to make an exception for what is probably the most legible, durable, and beautiful example of the genre; I give you my ultimate chronograph - the Sinn 756 Diapal. Why spend $25K when you can have this for all of £2.5K? Surely a contender:

I'm curious to see what you nominate. I know there are still some zeniths that could be on the list but I'll wait until you put in your submissions.

Well given the PMs that we are exchanging right now you may have some ideas

Definitely some Zeniths in my mind and could make some arguments for a lot more to be in the discussion - brands that are already mentioned and at least a dozen or so brands that haven't even been mentioned yet - and that's before I start looking at boutique brands.

Some initial thoughts:

Grand Seiko:
http://www.grand-seiko.com/collection/9 ... GH001.html

Grand Seiko Spring Drive (if this qualifies):
http://www.grand-seiko.com/collection/9 ... GA001.html

Chronoswiss Grand Regulateur:
http://www.chronoswiss.com/watch_details.php?id=10

Glashuette-Original Senator Regulator Chronometer:
http://www.glashuette-original.com/coll ... ls/models/

Patek Philippe Calatrava:
http://www.patek.com/contents/default/en/5119G_001.html

Arnold and Son World Timer Skeleton:
http://www.arnoldandson.com/home/royal- ... ac79f.aspx

Got lots more but need to do some more research. I am more than open to amending a particular model list above (the PK is the obvious example. I think the watch should be included but of course is has to be under $25K).

At this point let's just get the list and then see what we are dealing with in terms of rationalising it to a reasonable list for the competition. I don't want to decide the approach, that's up to everyone, but I think that it will be easier when we have a 'real' list.

Nice call on the 5119, although I would have taken the rose gold version as the link (which is also a couple of thousand less) - I'll just add it to the list as 5119 anyway.
