I have seen both of these watches and the TAG is all wrong in my opinion. Very Baroque. I agree that in the flesh, they do look more substantial than in pictures.

I am a sucker for most Omegas, so I would go the Planet Ocean. It's well resolved, refined and more minimal that the TAG. Would look good in most situations, so you could get away with this as a dress watch too. My only concern is the curvature of the bezel. Would be better if it were slightly flatter, but it’s a minor niggle.

Omega for me too. Assuming you don't mind the size.

the 45.5mm is the perfect size for my wrist, looks big but not too big, perfect size, in terms of thickness i had a super avenger before that had 0.1mm more than the POC 9300 so no problem there for me

i already have a blackbird blacksteel that is better in almost everything to the tag and have the same color scheme, as for the curvature of the bezel that is a really minor issue that i dont mind at all.

wow this poll is punishing one of tag finest watches lol if we see the rest of the collection this is one of the top models

Probably, but one of the most unfortunate, in my opinion. TAG do much better without pushing it, as they seem to be doing here. Now that Jack's back as special consultant, perhaps they will concentrate on watches that match their previous stand outs. Just my opinion, but this one is in mortal fear of losing its way. What's the speed blade subs all about! 3D contoured no less. Is that part of their heritage or are they trying to push the boundaries?

All that wasted negative space, and not in check. Good greif. If you have a canvass, use it.

It seems that my opinion would be redundant at this point, but that's never stopped me before!

The Omega is a much better choice for the mere fact that it's not a Tag!

Truthfully the Tag looks fantastic....now. But over the long haul, the PO will be a lifer.

Omega every time. I've had a few tags and one omega and id have to say that the omega is a much better brand and build, and I feel that the omega is more desirable and will hold its value better.

That Tag is no slouch do not get me wrong. The caliber 17 is a great movement. The Omega is a great watch too.. Most people would opt for the Omega, but I like the looks of that particular Carrera. The Omega would definitely hold its value better, because it would be the watch most people would choose. I would say this one is a personal preference, but you wouldn't really go wrong no matter what you chose.

Edit my own post here.. I'm sorry I though it was the tag against a Seamaster pro, not a PO. Definitely the Planet Ocean here, no contest.
