Thank goodness they're still keeping the "proper" domed bezel version.... because this one is hideously dull and boring looking.

I don't like that at all. Fantastic to hear the original isn't going anywhere. I just can't see this model as an adequate replacement.

Dull is indeed a good description. It could be so much more interesting if only it had the baton dial of the original. They could even have done a JLC style faux vintage brown lume to go with it. Oh well, guess its a bit late for design input now.
