The Freak is a strangely weird, strangely attractive piece... but so far out of reach on the price tag. For that kinda money I would have to buy a sightly used Ferrari!

I've always loved this watch..... but it comes at a SERIOUS price!

Technically amazing, aesthetically disturbing (this is the nicest of the bunch), financially crippling!

I admire the mind that thought it up - twist the case to wind, use parts of the movement as hands, etc, and the engineering that created it, but I don't think I'd want one.

I agree on all counts....., EXCEPT that I think it's aesthetically brilliant, and I would most definitely have one (if funds allowed of course..... and if I already had the slightly used Ferrari that BroncoSport mentioned!). I've always just loved the fact that they essentially threw the "watch rule book" out when they designed the Freak models. "Crown? Pah! Who needs a crown to wind it!" etc. Love it.

No accounting for taste

Hey BroncoSport - do you know that the regular MaxiMarine comes in a very bright yellow too - that one is very cool!!

Yeah I just saw one. The one I saw has a display back as well, which is really cool, but they ruined it with the name of a AD on the back as it was a limited edition of 100 for that AD. (at least the one I saw was). It is definitely very striking. Dont know how I would like the all yellow after time goes on.

There is also a "blue wave" version with a really neat dial.

Blue surf is cool - not all yellow are the LE - there's a regular one as well - same as the LE but with a yellow bezel and no DB.

The chronographs are DB.

Just logged some time at Nardin's site and they not only have an all yellow but they also have all orange and all red!

I still like the silver(white) the best for the maxi marine.
