I hear ya on the "too many lings to buy" part

I've been threatening to buy a Pannie for a couple of years now, but never actually taken the plunge. I'm not sure if I'd ever have a collection of them, but I certainly fancy at least one! (Although I'm sure that'd change after owning one though!)

In an ideal world I'd get hold of a 1950 Flyback Regatta...... failing that, an Arktos..... and failing that, a Submersible or a GMT. Given that the Regatta and the Arktos are unicorn-sh*t rare (and expensive), I reckon I'll have to concentrate on the GMT or Submersible.

........BUT there's always too many Breitlings to buy first!

So you want a 1950? Arktos styling? Amazing sub?

You have to get a 1950 Pangaea Sub w/ Depth Gauge!

I've been drooling over these since the first picture came out.

47mm of badass.

Problem...possibly have to sell half your lings to fund it and rarer than finding a stripper not 'paying her way through school'.

I've seen the Pangaea (in pics) and I must be honest but it looks a little too "industrial" for me.... and (the big downer for me) it's titanium. :?

Nah, give me a PAM 253 1950 Regatta Flyback (or a PAM 286 1950 Regatta Rattrapante) any day of the week. Sportback (who used to post on here a lot before he defected to Paneraisource.com! ) used to tease me with pics of his PAM 253 all the darn time! I really think I may need to source myself one!

Ahhh, the Panerai, the yuppie watch of the 00's. wonderfully elegant and simple, they vary massively in price for such little change in dial design/detail (although technically i'm sure the change is massive). i also love the story behind their success (Sly Stallone) and admire there proud history.

personally, a Panerai is on the shopping list and i was interested in getting one before the Breitling but glad i didn't. to the casual observer, i don't think they really look more than a nice $200 watch but it depends where you hang around and what you want from the watch. if you want to make a statement with your watch i would go with a Graham!!!!!http://www.graham-london.com/index.en.html

I guess a few gymnasiums will be putting up their membership prices too so they can afford to keep themselves in wall-clocks!

I like them a lot, and will someday buy one for sure. The one I'd get would be the "standard" Luminor Marina Auto (PAM 00104), possibly with a metal bracelet (PAM 00220), although the price difference of €1.300 between them is quite large.

You could just buy an Aftermarket bracelet... seems to be the common practice.

Wow, didn't know aftermarket bracelets for Panerais even exist. I'll look into that, thanks.

Panerai and Breitling are by far my favorite two brands, maybe followed by Omega and then Rolex.

Definately check out the after market straps, some great stuff out there!
