I recently purchased an Omega (as mentioned in several other threads) and so far it is just phenomenal. I would say that my Aqua Terra is a nicer overall watch than my CSO. The finish is excellent, the rotor is silent and no wobble, the time keeping is about +1 second per day, and the bracelet (solid links with screws) are all pretty fantastic. The only thing, that is a bit of a negative is the hour hand does not have much lume, therefore at night (in total darkness) it can be tough to see the time correctly. As for the half link, well I seem to be in the sweet spot, because with that I get that perfect fit. If I had a choice I would put the Ocean Racer deployment clasp on every watch I own... That thing is customizable and awesome!!

All the Speedies I've seen have three micro-adjustment holes in the clasps. Granted, that doesn't give as wide a range of adjustability as on Breitling's clasps, and most (if not all) other Omega models don't have any adjustability in the clasps at all. Still, it's at least worth noting - if you get a Speedie, you will have some micro-adjustment capability.

I had two current Speedies. One had 2 adjustments and the other had none.

OK...well, I stand corrected. All the Speedies I've seen have had micro-adjustment clasps. Evidently not all of them do, though.

The Aqua Terra and PO I had needed half links. They each came with one, but I neede to buy an extra with the AT to get it to fit right. I don't believe my Seamster GMT had half links.

I'm a big Omega fan....but this irks me. On the bright side, when I needed to buy the half link, I just went to O Frei and ordered it!

I have owned three, on various ends of the spectrum. My SMP was a solid, solid watch, kept great time, had nice feel on the rotating bezel--for the money, a tough watch to beat. My Dynamic chrono was the same way, tough as nails, never fails, and now my teenaged son has it. The fact that it still runs great with him wearing it is as much a compliment as I can give. I agree that the bracelets are not the level of Breitling with one exception--my old Constellation Double Eagle had a fantastic bracelet, solid, secure and substantial. The SMP bracelet scuffed too easily for my liking, especailly next to my Rolex. I would have preferred a speedy bracelet on my old SMP. The Dynamic bracelet held up pretty well.

The only reason I haven't more recently owned an Omega is that the timeless look got just a little boring for me. Also the PO seemeed either just a bit small in 42 or just a bit large at 45. Also, my watch guy had to jerry-rig a PO movement to make it work after some unscucessful trips by a customer to Omega service. I still think that's an exception, however-- all of mine ran well. I have taken a hard look at a pre-owned silver hour vision, very nice but I just think I want something else a little more. If you like the look and feel, its a great watch.
