at one point in time i tried the same thing, i wanted a knock around watch that was big like my super avengers, but i wanted something i wouldn't care about. i bought a 45mm auto watch, with a sapphire crystal, eta movement bla bla, it was like 1700. kept it a month, couldn't take it, it just want my super avenger. it had to go, super avenger back on daily. and i used to be really rough on my watches. bottom line, wear the sa. if you are really worried about it, buy a used breathing hercules you can get for 2k ish, or another used super avenger, pay more, and wear the crap out of it.

I found exactly what I needed....Deep Blue Depthmaster 3000. Big, heavy, and very inexpensive for what it is. Not a Swiss mov't, but who cares on a daily knockaround....Superior lume, bracelet looks very similar to an Omega PO, 50mm face, and good to 10,000 ft, which I need almost daily
thanks again for all the great suggestions
