I wonder how they're going to engineer the rotor on the movement...

Perhaps something like a micro rotor?

It's already produced, it's a rotor that moves along the back of the movement (side to side, not round and round) and drives gears in the 'channel' between the rails that it runs on.

Here is some pics and a link to info on the new auto version unveiled this year. At about 30k it's out of my league, but still cool.

Woohoo! Well I finally made back home today and of course the first order of business was to strap this baby on. When my daughter brought me the box it was in I could not believe how HUGE the thing was and it weighed a ton. Not sure what kind of wood it is, but this thing is one heavy box and big enough to have a fricking block party in.

I have to admit this piece wowed me all over again when I opened the box and put it on. The butterfly clasp is very nice and secures firmly and the rubber strap is very comfortable. After reading the book to see what it would take to power this rascal up, I found that it takes about 100 turns to power it up to the full 72 hour reserve rate.

All in all I am very pleased with everything about this piece and I just am in awe of the workmanship that produced such a marvel of micro technology. Everything about this piece is so classy without being over the top in your face ostentatious, simply a brilliant piece IMO that could be worn dressy or dressed down.

At any rate I grabbed my camera and took box complete with watch outside for some pics to share. Enjoy!

Awesome, enjoy it.

I wonder why they made an LE at 393 and not 392 or 400.....

Absolutely stunning. I love it.

I always lusted after the Golden Bridge. However, that is very dress watch orientated.

I love the fact they have brought this technology and craftmanship to a workaday watch.

:wowzers The watch looks perfect on your wrist, like it was meant to be  Congratulations again on a phenomenal piece Rich and you got a great edition number, in perfect mathematical balance with the magic 3:

#131 of 393 made:

1 x 3 = 3
3 x 3 = 9
1 x 3 = 3

393

Cheers!
