Very nice. I like the blacked out one the best. The street price makes this one to be added to the radar.

Here's a bit more info and a hands on review for this beauty.

http://www.ablogtoread.com/zenith-el-pr ... -hands-on/

The bezel is ceramic  , and my god I think it looks gorgeous. I honestly can't think of a single thing I don't like about it! 45.5 is a fine size, display back, ceramic bezel, bracelet option, the El Primero movement with a date (lacking on quite a few El Primero models)........ the list goes on and on. It's probably my favourite new watch of the year so far.

Please stop! I am already struggling with adding this to my must buy list! Thankfully I have my watch limit to keep me in check, unfortunately I am too attached to all my current pieces! Which to sell now?

A year ago Zenith was probably one of my least favorite brands...not because of quality, but I just did not care for the look of their watches. I have to say with the 36,000 vph, striking tenth, and now this one...I am really a fan of where they are heading. Their prices are very attractive for what you are getting too with the El Primero movement.

$6,000 USD.
When I purchased my Defy Classic Aero, esentially the same watch minus the flyback feature, in April 2010 the MSRP, on a rubber strap, was $8,7000 USD. Of course I did not pay that. But, thank you Zenith for futhering the de-valuation of my watch. I love my watch. But, Zenith's new pricing has me a little PO'd. No other watch maker is lowering prices. Keep lowering prices and soon Zenith can be on par with Tag. That will be a major accomplishment - sarcasim. I do not get it.

Well that's just silly. They took the one thing that I didn't love about the striking 10th, the multi-colored sub-dials and made everything black. Perfect!!! Zenith really is making some absolutely beautiful watches lately, there's way too many watches I want now.

If I am honest I never gave Zenith a second thought. However, this Stratos Flyback all black is gorgeous! Good job!

Silly isn't a strong enough word. To suggest that a Zenith price decrease potentially puts the brand at Tag level is absurd as it disregards quality.

It's quite unlikely reducing the price on new Zenith's will materially impact resale value on Defys. The Defy range was an abject disaster and nearly put Zenith out of business. In order to keep their US ADs, Zenith had to offer to buy back their stock of unsellable Defys. It's not that the Defy was a bad design, rather Zenith produced too many and in too many models, rendering their roots almost moot. A year ago the typical Zenith display was about 20 Defys, a few Chronomaster, and a couple Captains and other elites. A Defy has crappy resale value now - really crappy!!! - because it was part of a manufacturing and marketing error (there are a couple I like - even owned a couple). A price decrease can't effect the Defy resale value much - it already is almost nonexistent.

i was never much of a fan until i saw them in person. the defy range was a bit much for me. but the chronomasters are amazing. if you have an AD in your area just pop in and you will see what i mean.

That thing is filthy!!!! Great classic design, and a value watch at that. The only thing is I do prefer the pushers on the 36000, but the much cooler bezel makes up for the difference.

Good Job Zenith!!

My thoughts exactly. The pushers just don't seem right. I'm also not a fan of the lump between the lugs. Apart from that i like it a lot.

Interesting, I think the pushers make the design work even better.

I really can't stand the slope of the bezel on this model. I can't get past it. I also don't like how they tried to make an end link between the lugs to look like it is a bracelet connected to a strap. Weird design IMO. I like some of Zenith's new models but this one I hate.

I didnt even the notice that. Ugly. Not only the hump, but that entire center piece between the lugs is ugly. Why couldnt they have just stuck with some normal lugs? I think it ruins an otherwise great looking watch.

I personally love everything about this watch and I don't have a problem with the bezel myself. And as for hump in between the lugs, well to me it just looks like this watch is crying out to be put on the bracelet!
