Service and price are my only prerequisites. I've gone to the same AD on my last what half dozen purchases because the discounts are good and the service is excellent. I have a local AD who also meets those two criteria and is also excellent as is George from Govberg.

My only real no-no is when I walk into a shop and feel uncomfortable. That is not nice and causes me to walk out immediately.

Atmosphere. It's hard to explain this one, but I like to feel that I'm neither under pressure to buy nor being dismissed as a time-waster. To be completely honest, a lot of the time I will look at, and even try on, watches I have no intention of buying in the immediate future-- however, there's a very good chance that when I am in a position to make a purchase (which might not be that particular watch, but it will be something) I'll return to a store where I've been well-treated. I expect a good AD to recognise and accept that a customer won't necessarily buy everything they look at, or make a purchase on every visit, and be okay with that-- so long as the customer is polite and not overly demanding of their time.

This is a great point. I'm not gonna go back to an AD if they treat me like crap, unless they're giving me a watch for like 75% off. I'll never buy from Tourneau, not that they give much of a discount anyway, primarily for this reason.

im very new to breitlings and ads, i always bought from graymarket or micro brands. i decided i wanted a well known brand, i decided on breitling and started looking used but when i saw the prices they were selling for used i figured i would just spend a little more and go new. i looked at gray market first and then asked around about ads. i live in california but there are no ads close to me, i was refered to this forum and govbergs by a good freind on another forum and i was very happy with the whole buying experience. the ad was no more exspensive than the gray market. that was 3 months ago and ive since ordered another from george at govbergs. although i think i should have check a few other places first, which i will do next time. i have a lot to learn yet, but i will get there. the service is the most important thing to me, than a very close second is price. steve

Price and service...My AD knows I'm a price shopper but am not necessarily looking for the lowest price, but a fair price. I've bought plenty from him and he's always treated me right. He gives me a price, I ask if he can do a little better, and usually, he does. It's kind of a game and he knows he'll make it up the next time my wife walks in the door... :(

He'll also call me on occasion (have his number in my cell) just to let me know something interesting has come in even and if I'm nearby, I'll stop in to chat once in a while (the last time I stopped by, I walked out with a Seawolf and Aerospace).

I have a pretty good relationship with my AD. They are nice to me and give me a fair price. The only issue is that Breitling is the only watch brand they carry that I actually like. So the only reason for me to shop anywhere else boils down to selection. If they had all the brands that I like I would buy all my pieces from them.
