Yeah dont move a world for a 113...

Mate you can get a 213 for MUCH less than that on Paneristi CM. More like $8k.

8K a bit too rich for me :).

I think he was referring to the original poster

About a year ago, I had a real thing for Panerai. However, I had only ever seen one. I did a lot of research on them, and convinced myself that I wanted a PAM210, very simple dial, no date, not even a second hand. Love the lume, with the "sandwich" setup on the dial, the shape, the crown, and the neat screw in lugs. Just a bit too large. But what really got me finally was the "hard to get" stigma attached to them. There is only one Panerai AD in Vancouver, and from what I understand only one is "allowed" in each major city (please correct me if I'm wrong). Anyway, the one in Vancouver, I have absolutely no interest in dealing with. The person new nothing about the watch other than "They are really hard to get." That to me, means that he/she really knows nothing about the watch, we do have a few models in stock, you'd better be prepared to pay full price, these are very rare and you are lucky we have any at all, doesn't really what matter which model you are interested in, because you will be stuck with what we have....blah, blah, blah. I am just not used to that attitude, and certainly will not pay good money for disservice. Perhaps some day when I visit another city where there is a Panerai dealer, I can find someone with some intelligence and manners, who will actually spend time going over the details of each model with me, because that is the only way they will pry any money out of my hot little hand. Fortunately, that is another little pleasure that I look forward to at some point. Because, I really do like the watch.
Cheers,
Carl

I wasn't a huge fan at first, but then I made the mistake of trying them on a few times. I really like the simple dial and all of the strap options. Something just didn't sit right with my Chronomat so I had to make the leap and like I said, I don't regret it at all. I also love the limited quantities out there, since I've had mine I haven't seen another person wearing one while I've seen many Breitlings. I'll admit, they're not for everyone, but try a few on or wear one for a day and you'll be hooked, well, except Roff.

Hey Christopher, its funny, PAM's really attract women. Seriously. I have had more positive reactions from my PAM 111 with the opposite sex than any other watch I own. My wife absolutely loves the 111, and we had guests stay with us a while back, and the lady who is a renowned interior designer (with zero watch knowledge, and doesn't know a the difference between a Breitling and a Invicta) went straight for the 111 when I showed them my watch box. She went on and on about the simplicity of the sandwich dial and shape of the case etc. She instantly proclaimed it her favorite amongst some serious competition. So it is no surprise that your wife swooned over the PAM. And lets face it, any time the wife approves of a watch, its a good thing.

I know my 111 is overpriced for what it is, but I love it anyways. The newer models with in-house movements deserve their accolades and are really starting to cement their place in the luxury market, while also killing the stigma that PAM's are over marketed and over priced (I also think the were). I have my eye on a 312 with in-house 9000 mov't, when the right deal comes along. But for now I still enjoy the 111 and don't plan on selling it unless it is to fund the 312.

Good luck with your decisions, and remember there are many PAM's well below the 12K mark :)

Mark's right. Before I bought my 111, I showed pics of it to my girlfriend, along with a few alternatives I was considering at the time (not that I needed permission, you understand, I just think she has good taste 8) ). She went straight for the PAM, no hesitation at all.

london has something like 10 panerai ADs!!!

personally i have wanted a panerai almost as long as i have wanted a breitling!

i got the breitling in January and i love it, i mean really love it, but when it came to ordering my second watch of the year i put an order in with my AD for a second Breitling but in the end i was powerless to stop changing the order to a panerai!

best decision i have made!

i cant wait for my panerai to come, and i love the whole strap thing i have 6 aftermarket straps already!
