It has been a while since my last poll! :D

As much as I love my Rolex, I think I am just getting bored with it. And maybe it is because I wore it for two months straight as my B was in the ship for servicing. As I have always been a fan of IWC and there perfection of simplicity, I have had a couple models in mind...

What are your thoughts on getting rid of my Two Tone Datejust II?

When you say portuguese, are you looking at the 7 day model, the 5001? Also, is it the 8 day Portofino? I like both of those models and I'm also a fan of the Big Pilot, but I'd still keep the Datejust, mainly because it has a bracelet and the others don't have that option. Don't wear the Datejus for a week or so and you'll rediscover the love.

To answer your questions, yes.

Keep the Datejust!!! It's a beautiful piece and you could always add an IWC down the road. You will reget selling it, trust me!

I voted for the BP, especially if you can find a 5002. However, I am biased, I have one. By far it is my most favorite watch I have ever owned. My second choice on your list would be the IWC Portuguese 7 Day. I love that piece as well.

Cheers & Good Luck!

Enezdez

P.S if you need to move the Rolex to fund any of the abovementioned pieces, I would - you can always get a Rolex, not a 5002.

I would indeed let the DJII go to fund another purchase. I'm going to have to let this one mellow a bit. Buyer remorse is not fun. I still feel the burn from letting the Navi World go.

After some hard thinking, I believe that I need to decide between keeping the DJII or trade it in for the Portuguese 5001. I actually prefer the black dial and black leather. The white looks a bit tacky (unlike the Yacht Club). The Yacht Club rubber strap may get a bit old to me and the BP doesn't do it for me as the Portuguese does.

Ohhhhh decisions decisions...

I think it ultimately comes down to bracelet vs strap in this once. The DJII has some gold where the 5001 has a power reserve complication. Similar pricing and size, with the exception of case thickness, so it really comes down to what you need.

I would hold on to the DJII personally since I prefer the gold and bracelet, but the 5001 sure is a nice, more classic dress watch.

If you do go for the IWC, also check out the newer Port Chrono 3904.

I def don't mind something more dressy as I have the BB to be my casual /more rugged backup. That is also why I am thinking about the black on black combo, ya just can't beat it IMO.

Jnelson- the 3904 is nice, but there is something that keep making me come back to the 7 day

Run away from the YC as fast as you can. Ask me, ask Sergio - we both owned that $14,000 POS. A watch with no real identity and so loud on the wrist it sounds like Mardi Gras in there.

The 7 Day - if you want true simple elegance in a larger looking watch.

PS - I did not vote. :poke:

Well said, I did actually ask serge, he did not mention the noise but did agree with you a bit. Looks like it will be the Portuguese once the funds are available. Unless my indecisiveness kicks back in.
