So which of these two watches would you choose? Obviously, there is a lot of similarity in the look. I like the size of the Zenith a little better (42 vs 44 for GO) but it isn't huge. Hate the GO strap but that's an easy fix. Both are in-house movements with display backs (I really like a display back). I've never owned a watch by either company so I'm interested in opinions. I'm pretty sure I know what Roff will say...

Didn't know how I felt about the blue on the hands but it has grown on me. Hope it won't look dated in 5 or 10 years. Like the size of the subdials.

Love the font and the fact that all of the numbers are visible and mostly unobscured.

Difficult choice! I like both watches but I'm really attracted to the curved bezel on the zenith for starters. GO has a better size but I ain't the one who will be wearing it.

I also like the font on the arabics on the Zenith better. Dislike the blue hands on the GO. Well. Zenith would be my choice, based on appearance only.

Also. The big date on Zenith is a real treat. I like that a lot.

I agree with you about the bezel on the Zenith -- more of a retro look which I really like.

I also like that the Zenith is Swiss but only because, now that we live here, I feel a connection. But that won't be a primary factor in my decision -- maybe something like the 10th tie-breaker. The price may be a bit more of a factor. I don't yet have Swiss pricing for the GO but guesstimating based on US pricing it looks to be about 1500chf more than the Zenith. Not the end of the world but nothing to sneeze at either.

Aside from quality / servicing / customer support issues I'm not actually a fan of that Zenith. Of the two I would take the GO, but that wouldn't be my first choice of GO models either.

That look isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea but I'd really like to have a pilot's watch and I think these are two of the better examples in this range. I'm really impressed with the IWC 3878 that Sergio got recently but I'm not sure I can swallow that price tag right now.

Zenith for me. Two things I don't like about that GO, no date, and the sub dials cut into the numerals which bugs me. Aside from that they're both very nice watches. Looks like Zenith did a great job on this pilot watch, I like the numerals, the hands, the shape of the case, the big date, it looks like a real winner.

I think there's not a whole lot not to like about the Zenith. A touch of color and it would be about perfect. I know you've owned a few -- you've had good luck with them?

definitely Zenith for me, David
mine are a little older (what a surprise!), but never had any problems, neither
with the El Primeros nor the handwound Prime - but Roff seems far from alone
with his problem w/ later pieces ?

But that movement sure is pretty ..

I like the GO. The Zenith looks a little dated to me.

I'm shocked - shocked to learn that there's gambling in this establishment.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

By the way, beautiful watches Fred. Yet another base you have covered.

GO for me. I like a lot of Zenith watches... just not that one.

not wanting to start a similar discussion to that "best chronograph movement" bloodbath,
but the El Primero would have several reasons maybe not to claim the title, but make the Top 10.
it is an impressive piece of horological history.

disclaimer: do not blame me if yours behaves like the Roff lemon !

Ooooo you're skating on thin ice there Fred!

Agreed about the El Primero though.... I just think the GO is the better looking watch between these two. There are other El Primero equiped Zeniths that I personally like a lot more.
