Here are some of the watches that I consider grails. If I could even add just ONE I would be very happy and fortunate. What do ya think? Share your grails as well.

One of these two is my current grail. Im using the term grail here for a watch that I lust over but can actually buy when the right deal comes along.

And for a grail that ups the ante a little bit, but I may still own one day (assuming I still like it at that point):

And for one that I will never own:

Me too... I absolutely love it, I can't find one thing about it that I don't like.

I was looking through my revolution watch mag and they reviewed the JLC Grande Sonnerie. It's listed at 2.5 mil euros..how many people can afford to buy that watch?

Probably not too many. I think they only made like 30 of them though. Also, for 2.5 mil you get a 3 watch set: the grande sonnerie, the skeletonized gyrotourbillon 1, and some type of reverso.

Grails? Hmmmm...

Two you posted are there for me - Type XXI and IWC Yacht Club. How much is that Yacht Club??

Breguet by Wednesday. Finally! (there are advantages and disadvantages to a "no watches on credit" rule).

I still put the Fifty Fathoms Flyback on the list. And one I consider a grail I am fortunate enough to have - Zenith Grande Chronomaster XT "Moonage."

Please no more pics of the Pam GMT. I have to walk by the Panerai display to get to the Breguets. Time to find a Handsome Cab and borrow some blinders.

The Yacht Club is $12,600 retail...and is absolutely stunning. I tried it on today...love the silver dial!! Also looked at the Type XXI since it is next on the list, and I have to say that I am not digging the metal bracelet. It seemed very cheap, and almost had a hollow feel to it (not a big issue since I am going to get it on the band).

So the 2 listed above would be part of my "grail list" along with the JLC Master Compressor Diving Chrono with a metal bracelet. I have to say that the more I look at JLC the more I like them. They are quickly becoming my favorite brand, and I don't even own one yet.

John, how was the lume on the Yacht Club??

I really like the Breguet bracelet - I think it feels and looks somewhat "classy." It's more light weight than a Breitling bracelet, but that's becuae it is somewhat thinner. I plan to special order the strap (small wrist). Maybe.

The small AD with the Breguet also has JLC, IWC, and Panerai. All of the JLC MCs are on straps. They woo me more in photos than in person, but that's just a personal thing.

OT: not a grail-like watch per se, but I've fallen for the black/yellow IWC Aquatimer on the bracelet. Hard enough to put a refundable deposit down until they get some more. Seems they are flying out the stores. I've yet to see one in the metal, but I'm intrigued by the sapphire capped bezel (al la Fifty Fathoms).

I absolutely love the simplicity of the IWC Yacht Club, I love the numerals, I love the red chrono hand, its the perfect watch......I think I even like it more than the XXI....and you know how bad I want that!

I'm not a huge fan of JLC yet, I do like the ones that RJ posted but other than those I'm not a fan.

Shark, can't wait to hear your thoughts on the XXI this week. I may need to take a ride to Baltimore with John and pick one up!! I also like the IWC Aquatimer Chrono with yellow, it's a beautiful watch.
