Just got a new micro-brand –Deep Blue Master 2000. Pulled the trigger Monday – the black/yellow GMT version – and she arrived today. Very nice watch. Massive but fits my 6&1/2” wrist. So far I’m very impressed. It is a beast and a beauty. Finally someone includes ½ links AND and micro-adjustment clasp. This is my first with both features and it makes the watch eminently adjustable. Good crown and bezel action. Just a really nice watch and in a pinch it could get you out of the wrong dark alley. It’s that heavy.

Why the GMT? Why not? If you are going to have a torching lume bezel, may as well have more lumed numbers. Also the GMT comes with a 5 row bracelet that must be from the same manufacturer Steinhart used for the LE2. 22/22 instead of 22/20 on the non-GMT DB version. Which helps steady the massive case. If only Rolex would but a 22/22 on the Deep Sea………………………

For the price - $660 – this is crazy good value. Just crazy….. Thought about the Helson SharkDiver but it is too similar to my Benarus WorldDiver GMT.

The pics are of my usual low quality. My watches always look bigger on the wrist in pics. Not sure why – maybe a 2-D phenomenon. But it fits nicely.

Actually it is very similar in size to the Seawolf. 53MM lug end to lug end - 45.5 MM diameter versus 46, both 18MM thick. Everything looks huge on me in pics - even a 42mm Seedmaster. Maybe it's the macro setting I use.

But no doubt it's freakin' big. I figure why buy a $600-$1000 tool watch if it can't inflict serious bodily harm????

Shark, why does it have a 24 hour bezel and a 24 hour ring around the face? Is it a triple time zone watch.. Carl Bucherer Traveltec has a triple time zone feature and I was wondering if that is similar.

Directly from Deep Blue website. If great lume almost makes your toes curl - this watch could be for you.

You might consider the Boschett Cave Dweller - another bit of a beast. It uses a uniqure, rather than catalogue, case and has a really nice bracelet. Not much happening on the dial. About same price.

My final answer??? I think someone decided it would look cool in the dark. Yeah you could do a 3 time zone deal, but I honestly think it is for the effect.

Deep Blue have a pretty good reputation of the new breed of makers like these, and that certainly looks like a well put together piece - nice pick up.

Some pics on the included dive strap. Too lazy to try to compose anything but a simple wrist shot.

I don’t want to jump the gun- the watch has only been on my wrist for 7 hours and it is picking up a couple seconds an hour, but it’s a new movement and requires settling – not concerned there. Overall, I’m very impressed. Non-ferrous anti-magnetic, simple clean lines on the case. I think I could julienne some veggies with the sharp cuts on the crown. Not a speck of polished SS for a change. Hard to find any fault here even at twice the price.

Especially if you are into divers or even pilots, there is a dizzying array of low cost, good quality automatics out there. Now, I won’t go as far as do some of the theme forum guys on other sites and suggest these new specie of watches are better than the type of watches that bring us to BS. That’s just silly. But I get a different type of kick strapping on a pleasing several hundred $$ watch than several thousand. Not better. Just different.

it's an ETA 2836-2 . All the other reviews I've read on the Deep Blues have them running well out of the box. This one is picking up 70 seconds per 12 hour intervals(the first 2 I've had it). That seems like quite a bit more than a settling issue. The Benarus I got was running about 30 seconds/day fast but settled in at about +4/day after a couple weeks. On the other hand, the Sinn I got remains 1 minute fast/day and as soon as I get around to it is off to Frankfort.

If I do send have to send it back for regulating, I've only heard terrific things about the customer service and it just goes to New York. Stan the owner has a great reputation and I must say he has been great and prompt to work with thus far. I would be surprised if I was without it much longer than a week-2 weeks. I do not know whether they regulate their watches pre-shipping. Benarus does. Watchbuys(Sinn) claims they do ,but I can't believe they did so on my U2 - it's hard to miss a +1 minute/day variance.

If it is just a simple regulation issue, I probably will have the certified watch guy at my AD do it. Not exactly a high cost item.

Remember also that a watch that is regulated to perfection before it is shipped can easily be knocked around in shipping and be off and if it's a split balance wheel then that can be pretty pronounced.

You are also in an extreme climate which won't help accuracy.

Thanks. I'll just let it run for a couple weeks and see. Even if I have to regulate it, it's still a smoking deal IMHO. Have to take an older Chopard and Skyland in anyway. The Sinn is gas filled, so off to Frankfort.
