This message is mostly for you, Driver, but everybody is welcome
to read it. :) Next Tuesday or Wednesday I shall receive my "grail"
watch (one of several I'm lusting for, to be honest) in the mail.
It's a "preloved" IWC Ingenieur Automatic, still under warranty,
in absolutely mint condition. There's only one snag, I'm afraid:
The bracelet may be a little tight -- even with the extra link that's
part of the deal. :(

So, I either order another link from a dealer -- or shed the 20 or 30 pounds
necessary for my wrist to shrink 3/4 of an inch. :x What to do...
I'm going to take the high road, I think; that weight needs to come off anyway.
At least I'll have the watch here on my desk as inspiration. I hope to have
a few pictures of it -- and the rest of my motley little group -- soon. Counting the days...

Steve

Congrats Steve - tough few days to wait though. The Ingenieur is a nice looking piece - there really is a spate of IWCs arriving to members here at the moment.

As someone who has just gone through a 30lb drop - good luck. I actually found it easier than I thought it would be - but losing the last 10lbs is proving tougher!

That's great news Steve! I know you've been waiting to get your hands on an IWC for a long time, and the Inge is a stunning watch. Having it sitting there on your desk will provide quite a bit of inspiration, I would have thought. :)

All the best, and I look forward to seeing the pics.

Thank you, gentlemen, one and all, for your support. :) I have been on
the great diet for one day now (1,200-1,400 cal.) and, sadly, my wrist still
looks the same. :? :? But I shall persevere -- this isn't the first time I've
had to loose a good-size chunk of weight and it probably won't be the last. :(
Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted as the pounds drop off (I hope). :)

Steve

Thanks, Spartan, for your kind offer. However, it really isn't necessary.
You see, I have a very large, aggressive cat (Truman, who once, my hand to
God, beat up a greyhound) who is looking after my watches for me. :) But again,
thank you for your heartfelt offer.

Hey Steve, that's fantastic news about your IWC!! I'm almost as happy for you as I was for my own! (Well, almost!  )

That's a tricky one on the "buy an extra link or shed some weight" conundrum. It could be a good excuse for you to shed a bit of weight if you feel you need to........ but it also means you can't wear the Inge in the meantime! Hmmmmm, that would seal it for me - buy a link and worry about the weight later! And look at it this way - you can always take the link out at a later stage, so you'll still have that as the ultimate goal.

Anyway, congratulations again my man! I'm seriously happy for you. You deserve it!
