My sort of-maybe-might be-kind of-cross your fingers ladyfriend bought herself a Cartier Must 21 on a rubber and metal strap. I had a look at it today and the second hand on the chrono was at 1 second, not pointing at 12. I started the chrono, stopped it and reset it and it went back to 1 second, not 12. She phoned the place she got it from and they reckon they can fix it in the shop - is this the case? They sold it to her like that so I have told her about 100 times that if there is even the slightest hint of it having to be sent away, to get a replacement.

No idea how Cartier movements work, but my guess would be that they likely can do it in house if they have a watchmaker - should be a simple adjustment.

Ah right, cheers Roff, the impression I got was that the sales assistant was going to do something to it to re-align things!

Well, there are some watches that can be adjusted by an end user from the crown - generally quartz though.
