thanks all for the help. i'd decided on the iwc, unfortunately i got the 5001 auto itch :( and found a good local deal :D .

alas this was mine for a few hours, but there was a little mixup with the warranty so it will be returned. i don't think i can go back to the port chrono after seeing this in person :oops:

really sloppy pics. putting the auto next to the navi and the navi world i felt the iwc was just in another class, sorry to say.

It sure is beautiful, but I wouldn't say it's another class on the Breitling forum. :wink: :lol:

Good work, the 5001 is just beautiful. So it's being replaced under warranty?

The 5001 is the nicest of all the IWC portuguese watches, congrats!!! I am still considering getting one if the right deal comes up :)

alas i had to return it because the serial on the watch did not match with the warranty card :roll: . it's a problem with the AD writing down the incorrect serial (they got it mixed up with a black dial was the excuse) but i did not want to wait around while they fix it.

i feel the auto 5001 is more sporty with the extra red color on the dial than the more formal-looking 3714 chrono. something about red/white/blue <cough>navitimer world</cough> i love.

thanks everyone again for their (expensive) opinions! u guys ever get that initial shock of wtf/omg i don't need this what did i just do? i had that feeling wearing the watch driving home today.
