Baume et Mercier are not as well-known as some makes, but they make pretty decent watches. They are probably most well-known for their Capeland series, and whenever I've handled one they've always felt (to me at least) a bit like a cross between Maurice Lacroix and Omega. Certainly not as solid as a Breitling, but they tend to be of a very different design - much more dressy - so solidity isn't always the primary concern.
