The PO is one of my favourite Diver watches. And I have never been a fan of GMT watches - purely from an aesthetic standpoint mind you - but this model definitely appeals to me!

The blue and the orange kind of reminds me of a very nice Orbis Limited Edtion called the Tubbataha:

The markers on this one are orange.

I think the 43.5mm is a good size. Normally, I prefer smaller size watches, but when I tried on the PO I actually preferred the 45.5mm size over the 42mm size. This one is a good compromise, just in between, and will likely appeal to a lot of people.

No comments anywhere on the Omega website about the bezel material. Kind of looks like metal to me from the pics, although it could be ceramic like the Seamaster Pro 300M. If it was Liquidmetal, they would certainly have stated that. Just wondering.

There have been so many new Omega introductions lately (the 42mm Liquiidmetal and Ti PO, for example), I wonder what they have left for Basel 2013?

Cheers,
Carl

Yes, since it doesn't have 'Liquid metal' on the back as the others do I was also assuming it was ceramic.

I actually think the bezel is just aluminum like the orange version. I hate the date wheel and think it is going to be too thick considering the regular watch was already thick and they had to add a GMT function to it. I'll stick with the original PO.....

I think you must be right. It's referred to as 'lacquered' somewhere I've seen but not as ceramic.

Not bad, not bad. A little loud but not bad. Love the concept and would gladly trade my PO for one of those if the color scheme was a little less muted.

I also like the Acqua Terra. Omega have been doing good things lately IMO.

I would agree, it is a 8500 movement and they made it too thick for my tastes.

Concur. It's quite a differance. It's the only turn off for me. Not enough to make me not want it, but close.

Here are some real life photos of this watch, it actually looks pretty sweet!! ablogtowatch confirmed with Omega that the blue bezel is in fact ceramic.

Update: We met with Omega and the bezel of the Planet Ocean GoodPlanet GMT is in fact in blue ceramic, with orange lacquer printed numerals on it. *source: ablogtowatch

There is a guy on TZ that has one with several pix (almost daily) in the Omega section. I still really like it. For the too lazy to search on TZ here is one link with a few real world pix. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t= ... sg_6546955

That black bezel looks like aluminum not ceramic like the standard PO 8500.
