Errr.... isn't that a ladies watch? You certainly are expanding your collection Roff!

The Defy Xtreme Zero-G is a bizarre looking thing..... but I like it..... A LOT. (Not overly keen on the price tag though.)

If you like that one Roff, I'm surprised you don't like the UN Freak. Both a little odd in their own way.

Kind of like us then

I guess I just don't get the aesthetics of the Freak, whereas I definitely get the aesthetics of the Zero-G. It's a radical watch, with a radical escapement, but made up of very traditional elements. The Freak on the other hand is a radical movement made up of radical parts and while I can appreciate the engineering I can't see myself staring at the movement.

Unfortunately it's kind of academic as I can't afford it!

Man, Zenith are really stepping it up, some AMAZING pieces there.

Traditionally when thinking of Zenith I think about there classier traditional pieces, like the El Primero Grande Date I used to own. That was a sweet watch and it is a chore choosing between it and the Defy range, there are some really nice Defy models out there, Admin's comes to mind.

So manny choices, so little cash!

Hmmmmmm, I hear you on that one too. As Altair said "So many choices, such little cash". :?

I've been looking around at other manufacturers recently to see if I fancy something outside of the Breitling range, and the only ones that have sprung to mind, are Panerai (specifially a 1950 cased model), maybe a Rolex Deepsea at a push (but not at that price!) and Zenith. For value for money in terms of innovative models, then Zenith wins that battle hands-down for me.

I'm at the same point - still some Breitlings that I like and want (need), but definitely looking at others. Panerai and Rolex don't do it for me, but the Zeniths are definitely calling. I'm also seriously considering Bucherer - something from the Manero range (although the the new Patravi TravelTec Four-X is pretty cool) and JLC. I'll also inevitably pick up an Oris Artelier Skeleton soon - so much watch, so little money.

I still come back to IWC, but I don't think I'd be happy with anything that wasn't a Portuguese and the money starts getting up there then.

I forgot about Bucherer - the Patravi Traveltec are excellent. IWC just suffer from the old "too small" argument for me unfortunately. Great watches but lacking in size for my tastes.
