Ok, so if you had to decide between a green Rolex Submariner and an IWC Spitfire Chronograph, where would your preferences lead you?

Under the waves or over the clouds?

The all-green Hulk? If that's it, I'll vote Spitfire. My green Rolex is the LV Anniversary green steel bezel. I would take that over the Spitfire.

Yep, that on an alligator strap and the Rollie would indeed be the hulk :)

The two watches are so different, but if thats the choice you have and you need to make a decision on one or the other, then in this case I would opt for the Spitefire everytime.

Ive had both and I'd say neither. Spitfire is beautiful but too long. Hulk is great but outdoors its so green that I hated it. If I was forced to choose I'd go with the new spitfire, I'd prefer a black subC though.

Hmm, I see both of your points to an extent. The green sub is stunning at the AD's but I do indeed fear I'll get weary of it day to day. The Spitfire is a beauty and fits my wrist well, but only just. It also has the 89365 movement which, while technically certainly interesting, is not its prettiest execution... Actually it has no decoration at all... An although one'll never see that... It bothers me to pay 10k for a pretty outside, knowing well enough the inside is no match for it.

To be honest, I'm probably only searching for reasons not to get a green sub. I'm less and less sure the IWC can be that, but on the other hand I'm also less and less convinced I really want a green sub, so I might come out as reasonable enough to just leave all as is. After all, I did not consider myself healed for nothing :)

Thanks to all who chimed in!

If youve already got another Rolex, go with the Hulk. I was looking at one, but id probably sell my gmt to buy it. I dont think the green would work out as my only rolex, but as a second rollie I think it would be pretty perfect.

I'd say get the Sub, but I like Serge's idea of the black dial.

Tough choice as I like both of them. But if just one, I'd go for the Hulk. But a good point made about the color. It is beautiful but as stated might get bored of it.
