I looked at the first pic and LOL'ed at Omega for stooping to Breitling's level with the DLC case. Then I read the description and LOL'ed at Breitling for being so far behind.

Well said RJ.

I like those two. Great innovation and great looking pieces. Very nice work from Omega. Except for the price I could happily own either of those.

That dial shot on perpetuelle sure is stunning. One of the highlights of the Navitimer is the dial process, the name escapes me at the moment, but I will say that with the new updated case and dial design, I will go out on a limb and say that the Navi 01 and Speedy 1957 are a 50/50 split for me.....if the pics hold up to be as good as advertised

It's looking better and better. Superb looking piece. I always thought it was a shame that the 9300 bi-compax layout doesn't allow for a "traditional" Speedy dial, but in this ceramic version it works brilliantly well IMO.

Pleeeeeeease let it be affordable!

I liked the look of the first (SS) 9300 Speedy when it came out. This one I'm not so sure. The lack of lume on the hour markers (applied WG) is a minus for me. The ceramic case is not a big deal, just adds a lot of cost.

Drawbacks for me: no lume hour markers, no quick-set date on 9300, thickness may be an issue, and of course the new price with ceramic, etc.

I still like the dial set up though :) .

Dark side of the moon looks cool. Still too large though for me anyway.

I just read today that the Dark Side Of The Moon is going to be 10,000CHF (exc Swiss VAT). That puts it at £6,800 GBP. That's a lot of watch for the money IMO. Suddenly the Pilot Unitime at £8,250 looks very overpriced.

(Mind you, I have absolutely no doubt that once the UK Chancellor gets his hands on it,.... and applies our lovely VAT at 20% to it....... it'll be a shade more expensive than £6,800. Rip-Off Britain will no doubt make it nice and unaffordable......)

I have a ceramic Rado that doesn't scratch. Do you think this case from Omega on the "Dark Side" will be completely scratch resistant? I guess I am asking is that a common advantage of ceramics, and what are the other advantages?

Very interesting, D8. I've seen speculation on other sites that it might be as high as 13-14k USD. Let's hope not.
